My name is Ganapayya and I am a Telugu language lover. Talking about the Telugu language, it is a very ancient language. It was spoken by Gods and Rishis in ancient times. There are two dialects in Telugu: Dravidian and Indo-Aryan. Dravidian dialect is mostly found in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka etc whereas Indo-Aryan dialect is mostly found in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra etc. The Telugu text has been used for writing from 2000 BC onwards with the earliest available documents from 500 AD written on "paper made from mulberry bark". Like other Indian languages, Telugu script consists of 12 vowels and 36 consonants which originate from the Sanskrit alphabet. The Telugu people are also known as Andhras because of their tradition of naming themselves after their village, town or other place. Some examples are Gannavaram, Achalpur etc. Every Telugu person is proud of his name. Many names are synonymous with the place where they belong to so it's very difficult for them to change their names in any case. The famous "Lords God" Nandi (Bull) in the temple at Tirupati is called "Siddheswaram" in Andhra Pradesh and "Devasuram" in Tamil Nadu. Till today, many people in Andhra Pradesh are proud of their place names. An example is the popular road at Velagapudi which is called "Bhakthamaram" in Andhra Pradesh and "Sri Ramanjaneya Swamy Kshetram" in Tamil Nadu. The Andhra state was created on June 1, 1956 after the States Reorganisation Act. It consisted of 10 districts with 30 mandals (administrative units) covering an area of . It was bifurcated into the Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana state on June 13, 2014. The capital of Andhra Pradesh is Hyderabad . Hyderabad was the capital city of the erstwhile Nizam State. It is also called "City of Pearls". The famous Lake Moosa (also known as Osmania Lake) is located here. This lake has excellent fishing resources. The boats carrying tourists on tour are called "Osmania" in Telugu. The Osmania University (formerly called Osmania College), Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, APSWRTC bus depot, Raghunatha Reddy Hospital, etc are located here. The state is famous for its agricultural and industrial crops and industries. The major crops include paddy, sugarcane, pepper, coffee and tea. Rubber, cashew nuts and citrus fruits are also produced in the hills of the state. Cotton is a major cotton crop in Telangana.
